Scenes from the Climate Era

A reimagining of Scenes from the Climate Era as an immersive theatrical experience integrating 275-degree projection design, layered soundscapes, and biophilic scenography to deepen audience engagement and communicate the emotional, ecological, and social realities of climate crisis. Blurring the boundaries between performance, installation, and environmental storytelling, the production invited audiences into a dynamic sensory landscape shaped by shifting atmospheres, mediated environments, and human responses to ecological change. Drawing on principles of biophilic design and eco-performance, the work explored how theatre can foster connection, reflection, and embodied encounters with climate narratives through image, sound, movement, and spatial immersion.

Research and creative projects on this site took place across the unceded lands of the Noongar, Kaurna, and Cammeraygal peoples. I acknowledge the deep time custodianship, ecological wisdom, and artistic knowledge embedded in First Nations cultures, and recognise their ongoing contributions to storytelling, land care and performance. I pay respect to Elders past and present, and to all First Nations peoples whose Country, knowledges, and cultures continue to shape this work. Sovereignty was never ceded.
